 During last year's festival we
were visited by officials from
two established Mountain
Film Festivals, Banff (Canada)
& Autrans (France). Their
impression of our festival was
sufficiently favourable for
them to recommend our
inclusion in the International
Alliance for Mountain Film.One of the chief reasons for the formation of the Alliance is the preservation of archival mountain films and in that cause I have programmed a series of historic mountaineering films in this year's festival. Many of these films will be shown in 16mm. Since founding the Taos Mountain Film Festival four years ago I have been absorbed by the idea of a mountaineering quiz show. Finally this year I have been able to pull it off due largely to the support of Lisa and Duane Raleigh at Rock and Ice Magazine. So come to the TCA on Friday night and test your knowledge of mountaineering history against the 'experts'. This year's festival sets us firmly back in the mountains with a celebration of adventure.
